Week 9 Post 3-Ownership of Human Tissue and Genetic Material

I found this week's learning to be very interesting. I did not know that there were more people who had their genetic material used for genetic research than Henrietta Lack, and how it is potentially a problem everyone who has had something removed from them could have. I also learned a lot more about Henrietta's story that I was not privy to before, like that she was forced to go to John Hopkins because of her class and race. I also learned about the continued exploitations of her family after her death, which I found to be very sad.

One question I have is what is the best way to ethically curate human cells for research? Another question I have is does the Lacks family receive any compensation for the billions of dollars made off their mother?
